2 chainz charges 100K and kendrick is way bigger

Those prices are bullshyt. A poster on here mentioned how he had a homie who made a mixtape and was able to get features from 2chainz and some other bigger artist and paid no more than $12k total for all the features put together.

There's no sane person paying $100k+.

Back when Wayne was going all feature crazy you could get them for less than $10k

his guest verses are wack

he does stupid voices and always mentions his dikk

:usure:

He killed that joint on Pusha's album...Control verse overhyped a bit but dope as well

I think the thing with feature prices is, it kinda depends on who you are...if it's a peer in the rap game that you're on good terms with, there's prolly a lot of quid pro quo going on...heavily discounted rates or verse trading or what have you....now when Katy Perry's team contacts your manager asking for a verse, that's when the six figure quotes prolly start rolling out...if i had to bet that 400k they mentioned is what they taxed Robin Thick or Imagine Dragons for those features they got from him

Robin thicke and imagine dragons are fellow interscope artists. No way in hell theyd pay an artist on the same label big money.

A kendrick verse really doesnt do anything for imagine dragons, but it does broaden kendricks appeal/fan base.

The only way these prices make sense is if he's talking about the total they got including recouped royalties

I refuse to believe that. No label is paying Kendrick fukkin Lamar damn near half a million dollars for a verse when they won't even shell out dough to clear samples. If he's charging that, what's Drake, Ye, or Hov charging? A mil for a 16? Nah.
Less!

Kdot hotter than all 3 of them right now
Especially Jay, and Ye has lost a lot of fans in the last couple of hears after the kardashian.

Rap features on non-rap songs, gets songs in rotation on urban and rhymthic radio...where they otherwise wouldn't be...which means more spins, an extension to the chart-life of the song, and an exposal to an increased audience...so even a song that's already a hit like Radioactive, gets it's life extended with a Kendrick verse, which means a couple hundred thou more singles sold and who knows how much more millions in publishing for the added airplay

This is nothing, Jay was charging 1.2 mil a verse during his retirement in the mid 2000s. He said so on the Black Album.

This is only so he doesn't over-saturate the market IMO. He was increasingly becoming a feature-whore like Wayne this past year or so.

The less you give fans the more they stay hooked.

Not buying it. Has a Kendrick verse ever helped a non-TDE artist chart decently? He's not Drake. I can't think of a big Kendrick guest spot since the album which had success due to him. fukking Problem had 2 Chainz and Drake alongside him, I don't count it.
