TPAB had a botched launch and Interscope wasn't really feeling it like that...I expect bigger numbers. He might do more than Drake this time around.

:patrice:
Ban bet. :patrice:

And :dead: at you trying to rewrite history for TBAP.

This nikka ain't even gonna outsell JCole. :coffee:

I also find it very little that Kendrick is always ducking Drake's album release dates. I've noticed he only releases when during Drake's off seasons - i.e. When he releases mixtapes/playlists.

Maybe Drake is ducking Kendrick's releases instead :sas2:

How is that possible when Kendrick waits until after Drake releases. :patrice:

Kendrick can't even outsell Thank Me Later, despite the fake hype and reviews. :hhh::russ:
Not too many artists set their dates to clash with one another. Cole not moving for Yeezus was an uncommon occurence. Drake only dropped one mixtapes since Kendrick's ascension and it was a secret tape that some thought was a rumor till the 11th hour. Kendrick dropped a month later. If April 7 is the album date that's 3 weeks after Drake. Seek out Drake's dates and drop his album on the same day for what exactly?

Kendrick will definitely be successful. He won't do Drake numbers cause Drake is pop.

But upwards of a 400k first week isn't out of expectation.

And of course he'll go platinum.

Yep, the other day with that Kendrick thread, people were undermining him, saying that his "Hotep" album TPAB is wack and has "respectability" politics while condoning degenerative behavior :smh:

Kendrick is dumb as fukk - he exposed himself. This record proves that he's only doing this black hipster indie bullshyt because he doesn't know how to make good mainstream songs. It was never a choice.

Even the extraneous and fake deepness of the video further confirms that shyt. If a song is hot, you don't need a video to promote it.

:childplease:

That's a weak argument. You're supposed to make videos for a popping song.

Nonsense. You're talking relative to Drake who is also just a different beast to everybody but Kendrick has pop level appeal.
I can name A LOT of pop acts who have shown Kendrick love and a lot

Kendrick is a worldwide superstar. His appeal has gone way past just Hip Hop fans.

You talking about appeal. I'm talking about the amount of people that actually listen to his music, all of it, and get

I could ask 10 people familiar with rap music in general what Cartoon and Cereal was about, what ADHD was about or what story he was telling on GKMC and maybe 2 out of 10 could answer.

I have these conversations with people all the time. The don't fukking get Kendrick Lamar. But almost all of them have heard "more life" a couple times.

The general public is not REALLY listening to k for like that. They know who he is, the may mention him because he's a huge figure in Hip Hop but they don't get it.

Drake is an artist that's going out of his way to appeal to almost everyone. kendricks albums, all 3 of them, are speaking directly to a generation of black America.

Since the argument is him "selling" (antiquated term) more than drake, it won't happen. Drake charting 10 + songs, Kendrick will not do that, and in the era of streaming. Having most of your album listened to by the masses makes you virtually unbeatable
