funk audiences think its song of the year, critics crowned it one of the best songs of 2014 (even though they didn't like it at first), got 2 grammys and the goats think its a masterpiece

and I think you can't deny its greatness

I do like Drake, a lot, actually. But that has little to do with my dislike for K.Dot.

Kendrick's praise isn't earned in my opinion and he gets a mighty pass for putting out mediocre content sporadically because he's a 'good kid' from the projects.

I also do not like him personally. He seems sneaky to me.


But I will admit that I was mighty salty after the Control verse. I didn't like how he name-dropped Drake after Drake introduced him to wider audiences by giving him an entire track on Take Care.

Kendrick's praise come from the quality of hs music. it has nothing to do with him being a good kid or with him trying to be deep, it has everything with his him as an artist. Not only hes a great rapper, hes also an amazing artist with the musical knowledge comparable to some of the goat musicians (not only talking about hip hop)

no. not even close. Stop dikkriding. I'm pretty sure I know way more hip hop than you do and I think Drake is far more talented than Kendrick.

OGs I know who experienced more hip hop than me would rather listen to Drake than Kendrick. A couple heads I know prefer Kendrick.

Not everyone's gonna think the same about certain artists. What's more interesting is to find out "why" someone prefers one over the other, and if that reason is coming from an informed, passionate place.

Aand I absolutely agree. Kendrick is the definition of mediocre, but his stans don't see it.
