first time I heard gkmc I was like: "DAMN, this is a masterpiece"

few weeks later, its universally acclaimed and I was like "look at these haters, they'll have to use stupid arguments coz they can't shyt on something that is objectively superior to what they like"

Kendrick is the greatest example of an industry experiment, whom has had all his success financed.
He's the only nikka that is supposed to be hot but no one outside the internet and paid celebrities are talking about.
No one rolls around bumping GKMC.
Kendrick was never hot in these streets, clubs etc. It's all a farce.
Which is why every big show he has is at a festival that would exist rather he's there or not.
He can not hold down an arena tour cause he's really not hot and really didnt sell a million albums.
His whole career is about interscope force feeding him to you while trying to sale merch and booking him at festivals, pretending he's in hiphop's elite. Making their promo money back mostlikely through a 360 deal.

Kendrick is at a point in his career where haters are going to try and balance out the massive amounts of love he's been receiving with shade, whether it be consciously or subconsciously. he's one of the better rappers right now. Dude obviously takes pride in his art instead of half assing it (respect), he actually RAPS (respect), helping to bring back the lyrical aspect to the mainstream (respect), brings something new to the table while going platinum (respect), has artistic integrity by not trying to milk that Lady Gaga feature (respect), boycotted the whole GQ magazine thing (respect), and he tries putting a message in his music (respect). He's putting in work, actually cares about hip hop, and is relatively humble while doing it, I don't see why wouldn't deserve the praise.

he dropped 2 of the best albums in YEARS and you ca nbe sure his third album gonna be even better. Will you liek him? probably not, but michael jackson, bob dylan and a lot of other goats also had people who didn't like their music

He hasnt had a hot record out in quite some time.
His so called classic album doesnt even possess a classic song
Everything looks so fake.
When 50 dropped GRODT,he had pimp,many men,in da club,21 questions

When kanye dropped CD,he had all falls down, jesus walks, slow jams, through the wire

When wayne dropped carter 3 he had

being boring is the weak argument people use when they want to talk about an artist who has both commercial & critical success

"People love him, people buy his music and hes praised for being the best artist out there but I don't like him... damn lets make a thread and say hes boring"

was just listneing to his performance on colbert :blessed:

after listening to this performance like 15 times today, letting it digest overnight, then listening again ...I gotta say that Kendrick really took a shyt all over the entire Hip Hop genre with this one.
In the greater world of music, this track is not revolutionary. But in the Hip Hop bubble in certainly is. Its a forward thinking song similar to what Kanye accomplished on certain Yeezus tracks (New Slaves in particular). The musicality is what sets it apart. In '93 when Midnight Marauders dropped, this is the type of music you would have expected to exist 10 years from that point in time. Unfortunately it took 21 years, but at least we may be finally getting it.

We don't know what the studio version will sound like, but if Anna Wise is on there screeching like she is in this performance and Terrence WIlliams is blowing his horn and if Kendrick brings that raw emotion and fire, this will be a god-level song.

I know I am building my expectations too high, but its really hard not to

Kendrick and Nas really are the only hip hop artists i wanna listen to right now

keeping hip hop alive for me :blessed:

Being an artist in any creative genre is like being a male, and the fans is females.

  • They like you cause you're something new, then they find some asinine shyt to complain about EVENTUALLY.
    0aFIh1w.gif
Then they wanna change you cause it's wednesday. Then if you're stupid enough to change they move on to the next nikka cause you changed. But if you stay the same they'll abandon you cause they ain't excited anymore.
  • The game is stagnant cause fans complain that cats aren't "evolving" or don't add different facets to their game, then the same fans complain that every artist is the same.
  • Instead of the game being a give and take, instead of you just doing you and letting whoever wants to fukk with you for being yourself, the fans act like it's your job to impress them, like who the fukk is you?:dahell:

I'm getting too old for this shyt:why:

*clears your throne* Dog, same shyt i been saying for YEARS. You already laid it out, and the idiots will remain silent tho. Thnx.

Kendrick's only luster is the label's push. He's done nothing exciting in hiphop AT ALL.
ALL HIS ATTENTION is purchased.
He just won a grammy for a song that had a gigantic push, yet it still fizzled and didnt really hit.
Meanwhile drake put out a song with lil push was more popular than "I" and he doenst win.

Yeah, he has never excited me at all. It all seemed so manufactured to me, never interested me, I listened to hear what the hype was about and was like is this it? I wasn't feeling it. If he wasn't pushed by Aftermath the majority wouldn't care about him at all. He's the safe little rapper that they want to be the face of Hip Hop and not kick up any dust.

Lamar's music >>>>> big Pun's

And u could say that its lack of competition but u could say that about Nas and Jay-z in 2001. Its was literally quiet until blueprint dropped

Nah man, can't rock with that at all. Big Pun's music was much better and a much better MC, Kendrick wasn't even on Pun's level.
