I didn't know who Kendrick Lamar was. Lupe Fiasco (my favorite rapper), is the one that put me on to his music because he was tweeting about his album on twitter and he was on stage with him claiming Kendrick had next. I was like who the fukk is Kendrick Lamar? :childplease:

So I decide to check out a track which have happened to be bytch Don't Kill My Vibe, shyt sounded dope :yeshrug: So I gave his album a full listen and I liked it. So I took it apon myself to check out his other projects and came across songs like HiiPower, ADHD, The Heart series, Average Joe, etc...

By now I'm a fan. At what point during that process was I brainwashed from manufactured push. :mjlol: you nikkas kill me b

It's like if you nikkas were legit business men trying to put out a product you're entire line of operation will fail miserrably because you are concern about not making a "manufactured push" for your product :mjlol:

You entire sentiment is laughable :mjlol: but but but he had a hype machine.

No shyt :francis: what the heck are we supposed do? Just drop the album with no promotion/hype what so ever. :mjlol:

At the end of the day, if the MUSIC is dope, fukk yo politics:yeshrug:

I only see this talk on The Coli breh, I don't hear this shyt on the streets or radio shows... only The Coli:francis:
But he dropped a grammy winning single, how is a single worthy of a grammy yet not worthy of pushing an album?

And what the fukk that's gotta do with the point I'm making?
I skimmed and thought u were excusing his next project not being out yet. I was wrong with my last statement but he is wack and and his whole career is forcefed.
Based upon him being some mythical positive rapper that somehow made a success being positive.
But it's all marketing and he's really not THAT popular.

Breh these dudes make us legit Kendrick fans look bad :dead:
thats some real shyt though:bryan:
the funny thing is kendrick dont even need it:russ: shyt does more damage than good they need to just let the nikka cook organically but seems the powers that be have a expectation for his next project so there is pressure from up under to meet that...i think you not gettin a gkmc type next i think you will get dabs of that but i smell corporate poop on this one breh:mjcry:

Again, why should I give a fukk about the marketing and how popular he is if all I care about is the music. You don't like his music, we get that my nikka but miss me with the extra shyt

Again Im gonna reiterate

I don't care about how a artists music is push, or his hype machine, or whatever you nikkas call it. If the music being pushed from the hype machine is dope, I see no problems with it. Amd you camt tell me what I like in music, you eithr agree or disagree. Dont sit here and try to tell me, a grown ass man, reasons i likw a artist's music. here's nothing else to be said.

lol. you dudes are so stuck on industry cosigns.

george clinton is a 70-something year old man who i doubt can name 5 current rappers and is good friends with dr dre..

somebody said stevie wonder done popped out the woodwork to cosign kendrick.

and others. chit is so fake.

that grammy is part of his promotion.

:pachaha:

the mixtape game was carrying hip-hop back then.

and kendrick was around. he didnt make a dent.

you dont have to grow up in the '90s to know that kendrick is just hype.

look at the "control" stunt he tried to pull, only to end up getting outclassed by a ton of more talented rappers.

all the industry cosigns are suddenly on deck as well.

this chit is so obvious. i seriously feel sorry for people who fall for these types of rappers.

dude makes o.g. plants like drake look like 50 cent.

i guess 1993 was the year you were born.

vanilla ice and eventually mc hammer were shunned by the hip-hop community.

i dont see how the dre & cube comment correlates with any of this. i doubt you know either so i wont even bother asking.

:wtf:

albums were leaking weeks before the release date before you were born.

lol @ your idea of his modern-day competition consisting of mostly plants.

:snoop:
While the 90's was a superior era, people act like there wasn't corny shyt in it too and I proved a point by mentioning Cube and Dre because they composed classic albums with timeless music, but at the same time they were studio gangsters. As for albums leaking yeah you're right they have been leaking since ya old bumass went to the prom rocking a fubu kangol while doing the spinneroonie to kurtis blow "these are the breaks.", but were they being downloaded and streamed for free back then no sho hop off nikka

lol at this clown, "he won a grammy, what is he waiting for to drop the album?"

well its simple... he said the album wasn't done.. they were still mixing songs few weeks ago...

At the time he dropped that song, he only had a few songs for his album.

then this clown about to say: "but why he only recorded a few songs?"

well its simple... its because he was the hardest working artist of 2013/14 in hip hop and the 2nd hardest working artist in music, dude used to perform 4-5 days a week and did at least 4 world tours

I think his music is boring. It doesnt move me,his attempts at sounding deep and his attempts at sounding passionate sound forced and corny.
ANd his so called popularity is a farce.
