OP is 100% correct, but switch biggie for wayne.
I’m sorry, but I have to remove both of them. It’s been 20 years since time to let go.

They are in a whole different category in my opinion.

Considering Kendrick has been compared to the likes of Prince, Radiohead, Pink Floyd...I find it very direspectful to even compare him to other rappers.

He's way more than just a rap legend, he's a music legend.

Reppin
Ft. Stewart, Ga
Nas
Jay
Common
Ghostface
Black Thought

Have been my top 5 for twenty years now.

With Lupe as an honorable mention

If Kendrick’s next album is GNX quality or better he’s leapfrogging both Lupe and Thought and will be firmly and unarguably entrenched in my top 5

Right now Kendrick is the only rapper breathing in my top 5, to the point where I feel like I might consider putting Kendrick in his own league, kinda like Kanye pre-tlop. Dude is way too complete to even be reduced to a "rapper".

Pac
Nas
Wayne
Kanye/Biggie
Kendrick

If we playing that game

Kendrick would replace JAYZ if we talking from a strictly musical standpoint. Dot may have the better discography.

Had better legendary rap battles (more favorable outcome, more legendary diss), got the Grammies etc.

Only thing Jay would have over dot is the money and celebrity relationship shyt.
