I personally don't care for magazine reviews cause, like it's been said before in this thread, most of these things are bought by record labels. Doesn't matter cause the music speaks for itself.

As far as the "push" I used call it an artist blowing up, didn't know you guys call it "an industry push"

I haven't seen any of your posts on this subject so I don't know how you feel about his album one way or another. But you can't deny people go against the norm for no reason the more critically acclaimed a project is in all genres, especially at this forum

the only song i cant get into at all is real. are you brehs feeling that song?

i like the message of the song but the hook makes it hard to get through. at that point in the album the storyline is basically over. after dying of thirst the story that we've been learning about is finished. real is kendrick realizing that he doesnt need to be pressured into being something he's not anymore. then compton is when he finally makes it to the top. amazing concept album. haven't heard a concept album this good since A Prince Among Thieves.

Its a great album....although im not 100% sold on the XXL rating, it is at worst an XL with potential to be better. It really depends on how it ages, and whether others follow suit and try to re-create the same thing sonically/lyrically (thats how I would define something classic anyways)

Upon first listen....sonically it least for me, it felt like a cross between The Chronic & 2001. Although, Dr. Dre didnt produce anything for this album, it definitely feels like he left his stamp all over it.
