Kendrick brings up black crime in a similar way to a fox news commentator. He equals it to completly different circumstances. Trayvon, Charleston, or any police brutalty case is not equal to gang violence. Gangmembers dont have a racial preference for who they kill. If a white or spanish guy joins a gang he will be treated like any other member but if trayvon was white he will still be here today
Where does he equal it to the killing of Trayvon or anyone else that wasn't police brutality? Direct me please.. he performed on top of a cop car for fukk sake

He says it all the time, the problem starts with ourselves first. He acknowledges the gang violence in Compton and clearly understands it, rather than talking down on it, distancing himself from gang banging

Explain how he equals police brutality to gang banging? I didn't get that interpretation

Who cares whether or not he upset some CACs? The bigger picture is that this song points out some of the ills and evils of America. For them to sit up there and be offended that he's performing on vandalized cop cars still shows they aren't ready to talk about the real issues. What Fox News is doing is what they always do: deflect when confronted with issues they would rather not talk about and make their opponent out to be the villain. Instead of saying, "you know that performance looks eerily similar to what's going on in America right now and much more disturbing it looks more like America 40-45 years ago" and following that up with "it just shows that America failed". Even more so, it should make them take responsibility as a medium for reporting propaganda that further divides us as a nation.

As a Black man in America, there's no way you don't know that us simply existing upsets cacs. That's why our messages and approaches to delivering our messages shouldn't be predicated on how it makes them feel.

1. So why did I weep when Trayvon Martin was in the street when gang banging make me kill a nikka blacker than me?
Hypocrite!

2. “I wish somebody would look in our neighborhood knowing that it’s already a situation, mentally, where it’s f—ked up. What happened to [Michael Brown] should’ve never happened. Never. But when we don’t have respect for ourselves, how do we expect them to respect us? It starts from within.

3. He criticized the media for paying attention to a mass shooting.

He says it all the time, the problem starts with ourselves first. He acknowledges the gang violence in Compton and clearly understands it, rather than talking down on it, distancing himself from gang banging

Every problem isnt our fault or starts with ourself. In a country were for more time than not not black people were considered nothing more than property blaming black people for their own inequalities is asinine.

Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar.....the end. All his Pro Black credability died INSTANTLY when he collaborated with the heart of white privilege :scust::ufdup::camby:

How does he compare any of that to police brutality?

The first point is the same thing you said though

Problem starts at home, maybe YOU don't come from a gang banging environment but if someone sees black people killing each other their whole life, how can they ignore that and just talk about police brutality?

nikka im from the bronx but aint you european:stopitslime:
We could talk about both just do it separately.
im saying gang violence aint got shyt to do with discrimination like the others do. Police killings are actually rising while black on black crime rates are falling. I know both spanish and black nikkas in gangs and they get treated equally.

It sure further proves how much of these white people are imposters to our culture when it comes to Hip Hip. They can't even understand the context of the song. When Kendrick said my gun my mighr blow he was talking about suicide but these dumb ass cacs wanna twist it into to something else :snoop:

I'm West African actually, living in London but yeah

Kendrick just doesn't want to sound like a hypocrite, since his early music was a lot more of the opposite of what he raps about now

Kendrick isn't saying gang violence has anything to do with discrimination... He didn't talk about bloods and crips on his last album apart from King Kunta I think

Either way he's still talking about relevant issues in society. Don't understand why Hip Hop "fans" can't appreciate that
