The person who wrote that article knows about as much about the process of creating an album as they know about quoting. This is what Kendrick said:

"It's not a concept I want you to grasp in one day. I want it to live forever. To Pimp a Butterfly, twenty years from now it'll probably be more relevant [sic] to your life than it is today."

But "hip hop fans" will find any reason to hate on Kenny :umad:

I remember DJ Mustard in early 2014 that he sent Kendrick some beats and heard the album would be similar to the type of shyt he does. Kendrick also worked with Mike Will, DJ Dahi, Q-Tip, Battlecat, Alchemist, and some others during that period.

Whatever they scrapped probably sounded like GKMC production wise. Speaking of which I wonder if Kendrick is finished with trap and traditional hip hop sounds now? Will he continue to go further with funk or jazz stuff, or mix things. Sec80 was a nice mixture of jazz with more modern sounds, I hope he goes back to that with some west coast funk mixed in.

GKMC was > TPAB imo....so I REALLY wonder what material he threw out, because if it sounded like basically GKMC 2, we all lost:mjcry:

Its crazy how much going to Africa effects people. I've seen it with people in my own family. I'm glad he did that, album definitely has a different perspective than most rappers these days....

But I hope they didn't literally scrap those other records. It would be dope to see them resurface one day
