Quote where I ever said that his catalog wasn't popular/big enough to reach white audiences . If your next post towards me does not include that Quote then youre going on ignore

Outside of GKMC, kendricks music is mid. I don't think he makes music for my demographic though. It's clearly for yours

Then you shouldn't have quoted me at all if you didn't know what I was originally quoting or the original contradictory arguments at hand. You quoted me first jumping off the porch not knowing the fukkin topic. :camby:

Breh at Super Bowl parties like a dweeb asking questions about music theory and shyt. "Well aktually, if you were REALLY a fan, name track 12 from TPAB and why it means something to you!!!"

And what does this mean if the reception was lukewarm?

Rihanna broke records for her performance as well and she is by far the worst performer of her generation

That means the reception of some internet comments doesn’t reflect the real world lmao. This was the most successful half time show ever

Mfs were hating on Rihanna’s n ushers heavy too but irl everyone fukked with it

I’m not a Drake fan but that shyt was wack. Not a single song from GKMC…

should’ve opened with Bish Don’t Kill My Vibe or Backseat Freestyle. That “Martin had a Dream…Martin had a Dream. Kendrick have a Dream” would’ve been a dope opener and still fit with that theme he was doing.

And why are people saying the message went right over yall heads? Yall swear Kendrick is deep as fukk

I was too happy from the blow out to really watch but, the parts I did watch, it did come off as mid.

I could barely hear him rapping.

He should've done Bytch Don't Kill My Vibe, Money Trees, Alright, Don't Judge Me, Loyalty, Pride, Humble, Not Like Us, TV Off etc.

I've been to a Kendrick concert before and it was flames. During the "Damn" album era. The problem is not all of Kendrick's albums are concert-worthy but, he forced it at the Superbowl to market the album anyway. He should've mixed up the songs from all his albums because he has enough songs to entertain a crowd.

What? You're rambling and clearly deep in your feelings

You've been in this thread making sassy passive aggressive posts so I addressed you directly

AGAIN, kendricks catalog is mostly mid. AGAIN, white people LOVE kendrick

Kendrick got you so confused that you actually imagined a whole scenario in your head because you have no actual argument

You should replace Drake with her sister.

Breh, that’s what kills me this most:

“Ooooh, Kendrick is too deep. The subliminals and symbolism went over y’all heads! :ooh: ” man, if y’all don’t GTFO! :mjlol:

I judge every performance on its individual merit. This was above average at best. Nothing went over my head, it was just dull. It’s meant to be a half time entertainment show, and it was mild at best.

And as someone in here already said, if Kanye hadn’t gone crazy, he would’ve killed it easily. He knows how to put on a live performance.

I’ve never got the Kendrick hype but I did throughly enjoy his first album… in fact, it was the best release of 2012. But since then, it’s just been self indulgent tripe from him. But Kendrick fans will tell you “it’s too deep and abstract for yall to comprehend.” :comeon:
Similar to when a positive "Black" tv show gets cancelled.

"All y'all care about is buffoonery", "Ratchet reality tv and other clown shows" :childplease:

I'm not going to watch a show that is not very good just because it's positive. Miss me with that.

I didn't care for the halftime show. Suddenly I'm a hater of a Black man expressing his intellect. Da fuk

I don't care too much for Kamala Harris as a person. I'm a misogynist who hates his mother :wtf:

See where I'm going with this......:heh:

Just rewatch it on youtube, sound quality live was ass. The recordings are much better and it was an Amazing Performance. Top 5 Super Bowl performance for sure.

Only rappers from the culture with enough credibility, mass appeal, and hit songs to headline a SB halftime show are drake, Jay-Z, Kanye west, Puff, Wu Tang clan, maybe Lil Wayne… that’s it. I cant think of other ones.

Nas is a legend within the hip hop world but not many people know him outside it.

Future, Lil Baby, Travis Scott, 21Savage, DaBaby, Fetty Wap, J Cole, etc will never headline a Super Bowl halftime show

no culture vultures like post Malone. Don’t make me laugh. He was never a rapper anyway, in his own words.

Maybe Pit Bull, Jason Derulo and Florida, I know these three men are pure commercial pop rappers who compromised their original sound for mainstream success but they are maybe the only ones with marketable appeal and recognizable pop songs everywhere.
Wu Tang does not have more hits than Nas
