Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
this is true but im one of those people that dont give a fukk about whats being played on radio or tv and i've always been like that

radio and tv didnt influence what i listened to then or now

i did hold the source magazine in high regard though

Edit: actually rap videos played on TV was needed back then now that I think about it

But these days I really don't see why people give a fukk about what's played on radio or TV
cause it's still a numbers game to this industry

the reason most artists don't get a shot, a big budget, a nice tour, a good push.... is because even tho it's really considered dead to tech heads... they still go off simple numbers

how many spins is it getting.. what's the billboard say.. bring us that report on it's movement in the market... oh it's not doing shyt.. shelf him, no album for you

at the same time they pay to have iggy play a million times... then say "oh look everyone loves her" lets get her in mags, on tv shows, radio interviews, and protect her from all harm

what's funny is they forget that they paid for that... like there's articles where they readily admit that she was a dud, they paid off radio, and then she was hot... and completely forget about it when she can't sell shyt cause it was all fabricated

meanwhile great music is being put out by j. cole.. who couldn't get a song played at all on radio... but real people fukk with him... and he blows her out the water... and yet watch and see who's still getting the most attention in the media

Nas & Kendrick are right, the problem is with us. We (black people) are the problem.

that "untitled" song kendrick performed is basically the jazzy version of his "fukk your Ethnicity" song.

The untitled song doesn't oppose races, Its actually bringing the races together and connecting their perspectives on what they consider their fruits of life.
In the beginning of the "I" music video the man says. " Stop we're talking about peace. A piece of yours and a piece of mines. A peace of minds. One nation under a groove"

Instead of seperating the ethnicities he's bringing them together and saying we can't be truly "free" unless we learn to share the fruits of life with each other and gain full prosperity.

Its basically the same message of FYI. All men should be considered equal and as one. He's been planning this unity concept for a while.

White people said: "he's right, fukk our ethnicity, we're all equal"
asians said: "he's right, we're all equal"

what did black people said? "Kendrick goat, hes right... #BLACK EXCELLENCE, fukk WHITE PEOPLE"

thats the problem with black people, we have that superiority complex, its getting ridiculous. Can't be mad at lupe for saying fukk black people...

black people are TOO SOFT. We need to defame this bytch til her and her assembly line of copycats the labels are CURRENTLY SIGNING and DEVELOPING get the message
Only lost souls with no knowledge of self and c00nS think it's ok for this shyt to go on :snoop:

Black people are soft for not defaming Iggy? How much power do you really think Iggy has? The people that are attacking her are the ones who are soft. How much courage does it really take to diss a female rapper with a few hits, and 400K sold? People are doing it from behind a computer nonetheless? Where's the disses towards the people who put her on? You know, the people with real power to harm the culture. If anything, people are soft for dissing a microwave music making artist who we have a choice in not listening to or even paying attention to. Because people have applied all this attention to her, she's now a hot button topic in Hip Hop. The whole campaign to defame her backfired.

This generation doesn't have a Death Certificate or a Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. that gave us powerful commentary on what was going on at every level of society. They went against the machine and the government through the music. They actually had them wanting to ban their music. Lauryn Hill stood up against the Vatican. Fast forward to now and people are only able to vent through social media because it's safe.

with that being said, the problem is on Thecoli... Very few black men on coli are respectable guys...it has nothing to do with black people IRL.

Mos def

I might be naive but with today's technology and its affordability and accessibility I really believe in that "fukk the middle man" shyt

If you're a true and unique talent you should be able to build a relationship with your audience without depending on a label

I rather be a thousandaire and own my art than be a slave and puppet for a label and media

Calling the Roots sambo is very strong but these were the same dudes who did the What they do video so it aint like they were free of some contradictory manner far more impilicty
As for Officer Clifford?
Oh we got the TI agreeing with the Tea Party about immagration and borders and also talking about black on black crime in comparison Ferguson and a generally horrid reality show to give him that :mjpls: you said it yourself he's failing miserably.....he just dont know he look bad

Cant really call them phonies if they are doing active business helping the black community and they cant really be playing their position if they can get a record like "Words I Never Say" on the radio (in fact, that's actually impressive Lu managed to do that all things considered). There's doing things for the community and then there's stuff like investing in a programme to get black folks into computer industry and silicon valley based jobs like Nas is doing. That's doing more than a summer softball and giving turkeys out on Christmas. Hell, thats not even benefiting him like a hustle. That's just black excellence. You should be happy Nas getting brothers job in your own backyard out in Cali. :smugbiden:

:rudy: I love Pac as much as the next guy but lets not act like he wasn't the original Mr "Is it Oochie Wally or One Mic" and got his own share of people call him funny style. He was prone to changing his stance on things a lot. Dissing white people on some songs and then saying he gotta work together on others.

In his last few months Pac was fukking white bytches in Italy and doing Versace catwalks for questionable CaCs with racist history (hey Donatella) and had no problem making moves on another man's wife he was beefing with.all whilst ready to argue with any black man who ...but I'm not tripping on that, the man said it himself he was still growing and finding himself...just know it aint that different than some of the same people you criticize. In the end its not really what they do, but which rapper you were liking anyway. :skip:

TI apologized for that and said he was guilty of speaking without knowing what the fukk he was talking about, which is consistent for TIP:blessed:

I guess you right it does depend on who you like, cuz sambo is just a "strong word" for the roots but phony and c00n is to outrageous when it comes to Nas,Lupe,Kendrick:mjpls:.if Nas is helping give out scholarships now after 20 in the game that's great and I love to hear it but don't act like I been out of bounds for thinkin that the other 19 years and 6 months cuz he made songs that appeal to his fanbase:sas1:...and it don't change the fact he still being as contradictory as the roots if that's all it takes to be a sambo:mjlol:...how many white people doing racist shyt can one man defend before we look at em in disgust:scust:

And again Lupe staying in his lane that's proven profitable don't impress me,same as Kendrick...far as Pac he admitted he hated white people but later realized he had to learn not all black folks wish him well and you cant hate all white people....I don't mind rappers changing they mind about something....UNLESS I feel like they saying whatever they gotta say at the right time depending on who the audience is,trying to protect they career:mjpls:....or "trolling" for attention:comeon:

I guess time will tell since we not allowed to call nobody out until they retire now,Kendrick might give out scholarships in 20 years that will excuse his bullshyt statements:sas1:
