i don't think it's that he thinks he would lose....

but he really has nothing to gain by getting into it. he will just end up creating a come up for someone, or more buzz for their existing projects.

jimmy iovine has been through this enough times that he is telling kendrick (but more importantly top dawg) exactly what they need to do to keep the interscope juggernaut money machine rolling along, so they can all keep making $$$ - and no one is making more than jimmy, so best believe he's making sure they keep getting paid, rather than embroiled in petty rap feuds

I do agree that on Control his verse wasnt miles ahead of Big Sean
Kendrick is just more animated and people provably like his voice more
