this. i like kendrick as a rapper. he's one of my favorites, but his interviews have proven that shyt was a stunt. he has no idea what he is talking about or consistency in his views. i like the album too, but it kinda sucks that his message wasn't all that deep.
cole on the other hand real as fukk and knows what he's talking about.
Tfied to tell yall these conscience rappers be out for a money grab same as commercial rappers...Yall refuse to hold them responsible because "Bu bu but they talk about it in they music".....Yeah of course,they know they demographic and who they can sell records too...dont mean they really mean what they spittin,not sure why conscience music is never seen as "just entertainment" when all the rapper does is talk about issues on a damn song.
With that said,Kendrick is just on the watch list....He's definitly not the only one not reppin right....But this aint what puts him on the watch list for me....its just one interview....Some days you feel like hanging out in The Locker Room/Just Buggin Out section....somedays you might wanna be in The Root section
...Maybe today was just a day he mentally didnt feel like getting into a deep debate....its definitly red flags with this nikka though

It it wasn't for Cole and Kendrick, You would swear that Black America is having a big ass party in 2015 if you just listened to the radio. Black music, at one time, used to reflect the black conditions. Now, most of these trap and party rappers don't even mention the likes of Eric Garner or Michael Brown in their songs. It reached the point where "the streets" are not for black consciousness best interests.
Even if you right, it just means that these negative and self centered rappers like Future can do anything without consequence, buy Kendrick gets looked at under a microscope.

If you see people of your own color get bodied on the regular over nothing, any person with half a heart would speak up against that shyt. If you have musical skill and put those issues in it when none of your peers care, I have a lot more respect for you for doing something like that when it is currently unpopular. How the fukk you have so many nikkas rapping on radio and only 2 to 4 bother speaking up to anything worthwhile?

Both. When Sam Cooke made "change gon come" in the 70s and Marvin Gaye made "what's going on" around that same time, you could feel the raw energy and positive ambitions of that period.
After the last 10 years, it's been one big party scene, despite the world changing like crazy. We reached a point where there is a divide of the people who got their wake up call, and the ones that will burn with the propoganda once it's unveiled.
This era of music, outside of a gifted few, is abysmal and reflects the death of innovation or anything that challenges the status quo.
