Kendrick ( and specially gkmc) made me relisten to hip hop music, I felt in love with this album and it helped me to listen to Tupac and Biggie again.
I'm in love with hip hop again, thank you King Kendrick Lamar. Rhythmicaly, it's arguably the most complex rapper ever. His ability to seamlessly transition between different rhythmic levels, from quadruplets, to quintuplets, to sextuplets, to double-quadruplets, is on a level I have never seen before.
He made other rappers sound basic as fukk lol
Glad to see his album is already considered as a classic, boy deserved it, he saved this genre for me

We all as real hip hop/rap supporters just have to keep pushin hip hop artist like K dot that have bars, subject matter and dope production. No matterwhere an MC is from, we gotta push past all the bullshyt rap that is out there.

I am still shocked he has sold so many records. I never thought he'd even sell. especially after section.80 was overlooked by the mainstream media.
they definitely gave him a lot of buzz because section 80 was #1 on a lot of "best albums of 2011" lists from respectable magazines.
didn't expect him to do that but ppl went crazy as fukk when the album leaked and realized that we had something special here. He managed to obtain a pac-stan worthy stanbase quick as ****

I know everyone went nuts over section.80, but I never heard "high powered" on the radio and what not. also, critical acclaim often doesn't translate to record sales. section.80 went double wood independently.
