More weight would not help his game, since he uses his speed at his height. It would ruin his advantage. He needs to work on leverage, posting up, and positioning. It's an IQ game with Durant, not physical

Nobody is saying to get all bulky or anything. But he should get strong enough that a team doesn't feel comfortable putting Chris Paul on him in the post because they know Durant won't muscle him down below.

That's an IQ and skill problem. Why was he trying to post up near the 3pt line? Why is he letting a smaller player crowd him?

And the mismatch took OKC out of their rhythm since they tried to force-feed it to him

There's a difference between getting to bulky and hitting the weight room. 90% of people will never get "too bulky" or big with out serious dedication. KD needs to get his ass in the weight room, I'm confident with how he looks adding 10lbs would increase his speed, strength and quickness.

Every player needs to add that 1 leg dirk fadeaway.

:noah:

It makes life so much easier, when you got smaller cats checking you

Lol he does have that shot and uses it from time to time.

You do realize putting Chris Paul on him from the post was just a way to bring faster double teams to him right? He didn't have much trouble at all handling CP3 one on one but when they brought doubles then that's where all the troubles lie. He hit a game sealing shot over CP3 in the post, he realized that he just needed to make a quick move before the double got to him.

That's the TRUE weakness in KD's game, moreso than his strength. His weakness is that his longevity makes it harder for him to dribble through or maneuver through double teams so he always passes out of them which often leads to turnovers. Once he passes out of the double team he usually doesn't get the ball back.

Yeah but he also was posting up far as hell from the basket. Getting stronger would also help against Tony Allen type defenders who like to muscle him around.

True. But that's also a coaching issue, the repetition of that play made it predictable as well. KD started to play from a high post rather than off screen as he's accustomed to, and he also doesn't get to initiate plays so he couldn't find unique ways to score from the floor
