So you don't think Scott Brooks was deserving of blame? What exactly did he bring to the table? Keep in mind this was a guy who was embarrassed by Erik fukking spoelstra in the finals. He thought Kendrick Perkins was a starting center in 2014 still. His idea of an offense was isolation for Russ or Durant and never really anything more. It certainly wasn't his adjustments he would make over the course of a game.

They consistently were a bottom-3 team in total passes. Inexcusable with the level of offensive talent available at his disposal.

Should Brooks take some of the blame...sure..should Westbrook?.......sure.......why does Durant get to slide on his fukkups?

Nothing annoys me more than how KD has managed to shirk blame and responsibility for OKC's failure the past half-decade.

It's a shame but KD's flaws as a player likely won't get exposed just due to the plethora of talent on that GS roster. People always trash Russy but KD is still rail thin and gets consistently muscled out of the play by physical wing defenders. Westbrook also nearly matched KD's rebounds per game mark even though he plays PG and gives up 7 inches to the man.

Interestingly enough, Russ assisted KD on made baskets more than any other combo in the league last season.

Young Sabo was also 5th on that list with Serge Ibaka as the recipient, only 39 assists behind the second most-productive combo (Rondo and Cousins :skip:). Considering Serge regressed like crazy last year, it's safe to say that Russy could have easily had the top two spots on that list with even marginally better production from Ibaka.

Now you tell me who's a selfish player :jbhmm:

bang on

KD is not blameless in why shyt didnt work in OKC,,,,,,,the narrative that he HAD to leave Russ because Westbrook was selfish is paper thin

This situation is more KG and Starbury than Penny and Shaq. Because like KG & Steph I don't think Durant and Westbrook will regret breaking up and I guarantee there will be shots fired this season because of their egos. KG was never that cool with Steph in the first place, I guess because of the SLAM cover back in the day and that they were winning and they did have alot of on court back and forth love people thought they were closer than they really were (keep in mind 99% of those daps and hugs were initiated by KG not Steph) . KG was closer to Malik Sealy, they were tight tight and had that sort of friendship most thought he had with Steph.

Steph and KG don't communicate at all now just like Durant and Westbrook.
Every thing u said here is wrong

Nobody is ignoring them. There's simply a lot more reasons they didn't win. The fact that they traded heliflopter har_en for a year of Kevin Martin, Brooks being an abysmal coach as @Floyd Pinkerton pointed out, the Spurs being in the way (they were pretty great the past 20 years), and unlucky injuries. Russ got hurt in the first round in 2013, Ibaka missed the first couple games of the western finals in 2014, and Durant missed pretty much the whole 2014-15 season. This past year was the first time they were all healthy in the playoffs since 2012.
They consistently were a bottom-3 team in total passes. Inexcusable with the level of offensive talent available at his disposal.
This times a thousand. I remember when the 2012 conference finals began I was hoping so hard they'd find a way to upset the Spurs because I just knew Popovich would embarrass spoelstra even worse than Rick Carlyle did in 2011. Then he finals happened and spo went and schooled Brooks :mjlol:. Dude left Kendrick Perkins out there 30+ minutes with a pulled groin while we let Shane Battier guard him or LeBron would kinda just ignore him and roam like a free safety. All the talking heads were talking about they would win off their athleticism alone, but ignored that they were near the league lead in turnovers and near last in assists. Their offense was as predictable as the 2011 heat were, and that's a team that was starting Carlos arroyo and Joel Anthony around the big 3 at one point. That guy needed to go years before he did. To this day I still don't know what exactly he has any expertise at or what he's any good at.

lets be real, westbrick was holding kd back regardless of what perk says

and you might say "well what do u think is gonna happen playing with 3 other superstars and 2 ball dominant guards instead of 1?" and I say at least he gets something out of it by winning multiple championships which he obviously would never have done with zestbrook, "bbbbbut they were up 3-1 against the warriors" bbbut they still lost:camby:

young sabo cares more about his stats than winning games

stay in racist ass okc who stole their franchise and play with a game sabotaging ballhog who makes more detrimental decisions than winning decisions or join a group of proven winners and champions in the beautiful bay:jbhmm:

Westbrook stans never have a rebuttal for this. I'm convinced that 75% of his fans are the type of person that you ball with who takes at least five heat check shots a game and calls for the ball for isos while ya'll are still on defense.

Makes you appreciate Jordan and Pippen staying together for as long as they did.

Other people can post the details but I thought I read that Jordan threatened the Bulls owner/management if they traded Scottie.
You gotta know when you have a good thing going.

:manny:

Bulls were going to trade Scottie for Tracy McGrady for the 97-98 season...Jordan put a stop to that quickly.

I'm believing more and more that kd bytch ass sabotaged the thunder against the warriors. If they would have won the masses would've really been on him about leaving a team primed to win an additional championship or two. Sabotaging the series made his exit easier. Thats prolly why he couldn't bring it to westbrook face to face. If westbrook would've asked that question the guilt woulda made him cry one more time

People talk about Westbrooks decision making at the end of games like KD was a savant in crunch time

Durant was a turnover machine

but like I said Westbrook aint there no more...so he gonna have to account for himself now

How many points did KD average that series? What was his defensive rating that series? Do the stats support your theory?
