i prefer nas, but to say that a dude that has been going double platinum plus since 1998 and still managed to keep his respect as a top notch mc while accumulating hundreds of millions of dollars, being president of Def Jam etc... to say that he's the best ever isn't dumb. put jay-z's resume up against anybody's and you can def make an argument that he is the GOAT, so i can't hate. but yeah, i'm a always ride out with Nas as GOAT, jay-z def top 5 for me tho, probably 3 or 4. and, not for nothing, but they did go head to head, and nas kinda tore him apart, so yeah, i think that should count for something too, just sayin.

Nas is the far better lyricist, but I have to be in a certain mood to listen to anything that isn't ill/Stillmatic. I can put on The Black Album, Bluepint or AG anytime and just vibe out to it. Both are top 5 DOA, it's just sad that the fans have made it that you have to choose one or the other.

When it comes to the job, of being a rapper, Jigga is the G.O.A.T.
Artistically, Jigga's got the skills, but, not the discography to support that.
Even his best albums (RD, BP) are just real good renditions of the sound at the time.
AG was the only time where he stepped out and did his own sound (at the time), but, even that was just based on a old album and/or a movie.
Jay's the most talented rapper, I've listened to, but, I can no longer (as I've learned more about other rappers) say dude is the be all, is all--Nah.
Jay has hits, but, not groundbreaking music.

Last week i went through Jay-Z entire discography and he really does have alot of great music.
Although i don't think he has any classic albums he still has great songs on almost every single album.
That type of longevity is amazing and it's hard to match in Hip Hop.
