Drake and Kendrick will be top 2 and depending on J. Coles growth he could by there with them.
Wale will be a step or 2 behind them and Krit will always be the dude who all hip hop fans know he can rap but will never really catch up to them outside of hip hop forums :yeshrug:

With every drop Cole is always progressing. If you listen to the come up and then Born Sinner you will swear it was 2 different rappers

Cole getting that nas curse early, nikkas want him to be so hip hop yet they want him to make drake type hits yet they don't...if he can figure out that paradox, it will easily be him and k dot, then drake as the top 3 (although drizzy will probably always sell more)...wale jus doesn't do anything for me, I listen to his shyt the first couple weeks and then I'm over it and KRIT used all his best shyt on his KRIT wuz here, 4eva and a day, and return...now it's just sounds blah

Dudes in the thread ****** on KRIT :why:

Easily has the best mixtape catalog of this era. I don't understand why people got to **** on him in the thread because he's goin against their favorite rappers.

I haven't seen anyone shyt on him really, just stating the obvious that he really doesn't have an album to compare yet. Since Live From The Underground wasn't that good of an album

Drake then Kendrick, Cole, Wale then Krit. Drake should be irrelevant by now (in terms of current rapper life cycles) since he started buzzing hard in early 08-09 but his relevance and impact seems to be getting stronger each year. He's also the biggest influence for the new generation alongside Wayne and Kanye and the run he's he been on the past two years musically has been outstanding.

Even though I'm not a major fan of Kendrick's work pre GKMC, he's been hot for 2 years so it will be interesting to see where he's at in 2017 although dropping a modern day classic gives him the luxury of being able to drop his sophomore whenever he's ready and not when the market dictates.

Not a fan of Cole but he's consistently put up numbers so he's next on the list as you have to give credit where it's due while Wale flopped on his first album and came back strong on his second so his third is gonna determine his future position in the game.

As far as Krit, I'm a fan but he has to find a way to translate classic mixtapes into big selling major label albums. I think sample issue clearances hurt him but if Wale can come back from selling 28k first week on his debut then he's got a chance to be a big presence in the new generation. I think the fact there was only a snippet of the track with Future on the latest tape indicates he's looking for that to be his breakout track:

But if Wale and Krit are eligible for this convo then A$AP gotta be eligible for this conversation too cause if anything he's more popping than Krit in terms of sales plus has had more impact influencially and his tape and albums are as critically acclaimed as Wale or Krit. If anything, Krit should be swapped for A$AP as Krit's album didn't even clear 100K first week so he shouldn't really be in the same discussion with these dudes yet.

But all the aforementioned owe their careers to Kanye in terms of sound (808s and heartbreak) or content (College Dropout).....

Kendrick is far ahead of all in terms of the quality of his albums so far.
Drake is up their talent wise. Wale and Cole are very dope artists. Need to work to be on that legendary road though. Kendrick on that road.

I have to say Kendrick

At the end of the day if you want to be remember in music history, you're gonna be judged by the retail body of work you leave behind.

I'd take KRIT over all of them in a minute if I had to get stuck with only one discography for the rest of my life or whatever. All of them are bigger than him but he's my favorite rapper of this generation along with Drake and K. Dot.

If you sit down and listen to the music and disregard the money and fame its would be...K. Dot and Krit... The rest are not musically up to par with these 2 IMO...
