How was he mediocre? Just because you don't find it entertaining doesn't make it mediocre. An average fan might get bored of it since they are looking for club hits

It was amazing to me!! I still play it in the whip. Don't really care too much for what rappers like Drake etc. are putting out.

I think the problem with most fans of his was they didn't want to hear him experiment so early in his "mainstream career". I honestly think that had he waited until he was more established on a Kanye like level this album would've resonated better with his fickle fanbase. Me I'm a blind stan of his so I'm fukking with any of his projects regardless

He's been AWFUL. He was awful on Flying Lotus, Awful on These Days, Awful on the Bilal album. TPAB is what it is but he's fallen from grace crazily IMO. I don't even like him at all anymore.

There are are quite a few reasons. I wouldn't call it boring but it isn't getting the rotation I thought I'd be giving it. D'Angelo's album gets more burn.
