The forgetting of lyrics and the breath control issue was surprising. The song selection was stupid and SZA almost ruined the entire thing by herself with whatever she was up there doing.

For them to make a promotion about her being there and she decided to lip synch off key was the worst part of the show

It wasn’t the length of the set for me or Kendrick’s actual performance. I went back and watched it again and it was pretty decent especially with his breath control. I just feel like it was a battle between the symbolism he wanted to communicate and the show/performative aspects that are expected for that type of stage. Somehow both got lost in translation but overall it was enough so that people can’t say he was totally washed.
It’s gonna be a moment for him regardless, but if it wasn’t for the beef, this performance would not be as special as it needs to be for him as a stand-alone artist.

He had to censor half the lines on every song, it was always gonna be a little akward with his fast style unless he sat down and wrote clean versions for the show, other than that and a too mant songs, he did great, hip hop live is mostly about the energy.

I keep seeing this take and it's weird...He literally performed pretty much half of his newest album, how was the performance all about Drake??

It was about performing mostly his newest shyt in front of the biggest audience possible, hence we didn't get the "safe" setlist.
