Just announced on Wrestling Observer Radio. Did it LeBron "Decision" style with Meltzer and Alvarez.

Says he'll be returning to Japan in mid Feb to finalize a new deal. Wanted to say something now so people didn't get their hopes up for the Rumble. Wants to have another big match with Kota Ibushi. Young Bucks contracts expire next year too, so all 3 would potentially be free agents all at once.

Best for Business. Title run coming soon :lawd:

I wonder had he re-signed earlier if he would've won at WK tho

will be interesting to see how NJPW books him if he only signs a 1 year deal, they've been signing people to multi-year deals now after what happened last January.

:blessed:

Great choice Omega:whew:

Another year of high profile/main event matches under his belt in Japan will rise his stock even further as a performer. We know he can put on quality matches and so far we've seen just with the few limited opportunities he's had so far, he can rise to the occasion at the main event level. He has shown he can reach that level, now he has to show he can maintain it.

Signing in feb doesn't negate a one off appearance in the rumble

First off I'm pretty sure Meltzer said his current NJPW contract expires AFTER the Rumble. Second of all, what motivation would WWE have to bring him in for the Rumble, have him get even more buzz, only to watch him take that buzz and wrestle for the competition for a full year (or maybe even longer)?

It's nit the old days anymore the e doesn't think like that anymore

They let guys like Kota ubushi come and go as he pleases. The average WWE fan isn't gonna seek out NJPW

They know It's not that serious
