Trying not to be rude with the phrasing, but homosexuality is like a genetic defect/mutation from individual to individual regardless of species. It's not a practice, it's something some individual animals are born with. Not all male lions practice homosexuality, this thread wouldn't even exist if HALF of them did for this to be a thing. Only a few select species like dolphins, hyenas and some apes do it regularly enough for it to be a practice.
Majority of the examples in your article reference the population of homosexual activity occurring in 10% or less in each group.

I can tell you already the amount of lions doing this is under 10% as well.
It's like saying "snakes practice growing 2 heads" after seeing a 2 headed snake. It's a mutation, not a regular part of their biology.
Animals have been observed killing themselves as well from a variety of factors, are you going to claim they practice suicide pacts as well?
