About Kenya ... It's possible... I just remember a beautiful Ugandan girl that talked to me in all seriousness about it... I was a bit perplexed she confronted me... I told her that I never had & never will hit a woman
She still was suspicious... So something was off & we just saw us for a few months...

Kenyan women are actually very confident and outspoken plus accomplished. society has parallels of existence. This reality exists right next to one that is vastly different. a land of contrasts. Notice the setting of this documentary is concentrated in a particular socio economic class..

How accurate would it be for me to tour the worst hoods in America to make a report about Black America.

This sensationalized reporting by white people of the "dark continent" is nothing new. old as tradition.

Another thing to note is that when covid pandemic hit domestic violence stats went up word wide. this isn't a Kenyan based phenomenon.

To me, it is not a matter of accomplishments because I know very successful women who have suffered domestic violence. The problem is the attitude exuded by the man in blue during the video. I know men who believe as he does (some that are highly educated), and these attitudes are sometimes held by police, leaving women nowhere to turn.

My takeaway from this piece is that Kenyan authorities have not been responsive to domestic assault, and hopefully with a spotlight that can change.

BBC always coming up with some bullshyt. Even the reporter himself contradicts this thing and says he grew up in a poor area which would typically have that type behavior and he was never exposed to that sort of violence.

About domestic violence and socio economic strata, I don't think it's tied to that in any country.

Poorer women may have fewer alternatives and resources available to them to leave, but I'm not of the belief that DV is limited to or more prevalent among poor people. In Kenya or anywhere else,
