Tell me why the first thing I did when I saw your post was to check if the rep system was back.

And it is.

He's a garbage defender. You're right, no poor defender limits Westbrook. In fact, no one does, he does it to himself and you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.
Then explain why Westbrook had better success against other Warriors' defenders than he did against Curry over the course of seven games -

Every possession of Curry guarding Westbrook -

Clearly that isn't a mark of a "trash" defender and clearly it wasn't Westbrook just being off when Curry was defending him. He held his own and kept Westbrook in front of him on pretty much every possession without a screen.

These are his individual defensive stats from last season -

Spot up defense - 206 attempts, holding matchups to 33% shooting - 68% percentile

Off screen defense - 53 attempts, holding matchups to 34% shooting - 74% percentile

He also was a top-10 guard (not just PGs) in Keep-in-front% and contesting shots.

Curry was one of, if not the best PG (also one of the best out of all positions) when defending ISO, PnR ball-handler, spot up and off screen plays last season - not just one of these areas but ALL OF THEM. Now obviously there needs to be some context applied to all these (game situation, matchups, scheme and help defender deterrence), but you don't rate as highly as Curry did in ALL these defensive situations by being a trash defender.

Take your L and NEVER speak of this again.

Curry is actually a very good help defender. He's just not that good against elite players one on one but he switches properly and has a high ball IQ..It also helps that he has quick hands and gets a lot of steals. I think people just think defense is standing in front of a guy like Kyrie and "locking him up" when it's not really feasible for someone his height to deny a step back jumper from Kyrie which is his bread and butter. The reason why Curry has success against Westbrook is because he doesn't give up the drive and baits him into shooting jumpers which is the mark of a smart defender.

At this point I don't see how anyone can't see why he made the move. The game is much easier for him in a ball movement system. He's efficiently killing while on the team that leads the league in assists and scoring.

Even the haters must acknowledge this.
That's what I've been telling dudes since last season, but it fell on deaf ears before it actually happened. My personal desire for KD is to become a defensive terror this year, and make the all defensive team or become a defensive player of the year canidate. I think he can do it, and would be a challenge worth accomplishing.

If you think the Cavs can stop this team you're in for a rude awakening.
:camby:
Last year they started 26-0.
Its possible, even likely, that they'll find an extra gear and annihilate in the playoffs

But you dont get to talk that type of shyt yet.

Golden State hasn't shown anything we haven't already seen. You're forgetting how good they were last year, before the Cavs whooped them:rudy:

Nah he's a trash defender, the context of all those statistics come playing around great defenders. They lost some in the off-season, added another one in Zaza and Iggy has regressed and they're no longer doing well defensively. So to go with that, what are his stats this season? Certainly if he's this good then they should still uphold even though the defense around him has gotten worse, right? So post up his great stats from this season and I'll consider NEVER speaking of this again otherwise it's all out of context(like you love to say).
