Nah man getting Pau that yr is when they jumped back on the the Lakers as a " lock"...Pau was a 20 and 10 guy at that point...he was soft as baby shyt but skilled enough to help put us back on top...and we still ain't really believe in Bynum like that at the time..but he was what Kobe needed at the time ..they lost like 3-4 games with Kobe /Pau after the trade and were a juggernaut the next yr and won 2/3 chips ...we needed PauHell fukking no.
Sure he looked good playing with Kobe. But Kobe would have won with any of those guys
Other than shooting there's nothing Durant does better. Plus the fact that he still doesnt seem to have a legit back-to-the-basket game, is pathetic for someone who is almost 7'0'

Durant is great because of his off ball abilities
He not seeing peak Kobe/Tmac onball and definitely not without ballscreens

What stats are Kobe the better player at?SO ACCORDING TO YOU, HE’S A BETTER DEFENDER, BALL HANDLER, HAS BETTER FOOTWORK, BETTER POSTGAME......

KD + Shaq together![]()
KD + Bynum + Odom + Gasol![]()

At no point in Paus career was he a top 3 big.
Dirk
Duncan
Dwight
KG
Bosh
Then Pau
This is the probably where the thread should have ended
Although you also have to factor in Durant's size/length and overall more consistent shooting stroke, he's still not as good as Kobe was with the ball in his hands and he's much worse about dealing with double teams. And at the end of the day you have to mention the fact that Kobe had a much more diverse arsenal of moves so he was much more creative when it was time to get a shot off. KD tends to go back to a predetermined move based on where he is on the floor, and so he's more consistent, but as a result he becomes more predictable.
I feel like once you get to a certain level as an offensive player there's certain things that can't really be measured or compared without pulling up film and putting things in context.
@ mentioning “efficiency” when damn near half of Durant’s scoring has always been assistedThis exact post is why the new players stat padKD defiantly is more efficient
