Durant at the press conference
“Nothing in this league is easy There’s no shortcut. This is the hardest road because I don’t know anybody here. I’ve never lived in this community. … This is not the easiest situation because I’m out of my comfort zone.”

Durant before the press conference
"I'd get wide-open 3s, I could just run up and down the court, get wide-open layups.' I was basically begging him."

Still can't believe this entire ordeal. Wonder how we'll view Durant in 10 years. Will winning truly make this go away?

Yes

Winning makes people care less about the optics. Right now some people are actually doubting his ability to handle the criticism and make the Warriors much better. Some are choosing the Cavs to repeat referencing his record against LeBron. He still has things to prove.

But if you look at it from a complete basketball standpoint, I believe the the Warriors got much worse than better. Gutted their bench and added another guy that needs the ball in his hands to be effective. They have no depth and no interior defense at all. This roster will get you 60+ wins in the regular season, but come playoff time, this fact will hurt them. I got the Cavs in 7 :yeshrug:

The only useful bench guy they lost was barbosa :dahell:. Nothing else of value left besides bogut, and the guy replacing him provides enough on the glass that it's fine. On top of that, Durant will help protect the rim off length alone. If they lose, ok cool whatever, but they didn't lose anything critical at all.

Barbosa's scoring, Barnes wing defense and occasional offensive input, Boguts rim protection, Ezelis defense, Speights scoring:what: You're kidding me if you believe all that is easily replaced. Pachulia & David West are the only acquisitions who will make any kind of difference.

And your belief in Durants defense is questionable as well. Here's a superstar who people trust will be this great defender and he's yet to even make an NBA All Defensive team. So I would pause on that sentiment until proven otherwise. He plays D in spurts but not consistently.

The Warriors lack of depth will ultimately be their downfall.

Durant has replaced Harrison Barnes. Barnes is nothing special at all on either end of the floor. Festus was useless all playoffs long for them and Speights didn't exactly provide much by the playoffs either. Those two are easily replaceable players.

Durant is a better defender than Barnes by a wide margin.

This "defense in spurts" thing is bullshyt.

Speights has been a negative his whole career, that didn't change in GSW, he was a -12 off the bench. Liability.

Zaza and West make a difference, but Durant makes them worse:what:?

I'll put it like this,if you were to face the 15-16 Warriors against this current Warriors team, I believe the former would win. They have no depth. Like I said, they'll be fine in the regular season, but in the playoffs, I don't see them flourishing as much as they did last year.
