If Kevin Durant and anybody else on the coli believes that parity means equal conferences then he and they are all dumber than I thought.
If Durant went to the Celtics or Wizards (it would be stupid for him to go to any other team in the East)
That team (Durant's team) would sweep the first two rounds and maybe go 6 with the Cavs...
The Warriors would sweep the Blazers...maybe go to 5 with the Jazz. And probably still sweep the Spurs.
So you're doing all this complaining over what... THREE playoff games you didn't get to see.

Now to have a parity in nba you need a 3rd and 4th super teams to challenge those two. There are plenty of decently run organizations that do their thing who got players with future and a decent role player rotation. It's the anomality of those two teams that the rest cant simply keep up. The last time a team had legit 4 stars was like the 80s lakers when the rest of the west sucked shyt.

Meh, till they put in a hard cap. They will probably be no parity. Super team can stay in contention as long as they are willing to pay. KD took advantage of a broken system that encourages super teams and very easy to keep them together. Even then, Warriors was team built through the draft.
Doesn't help when terrible teams give out high dollar contracts to role players that don't pan out or these Super max that completely cripples a team. Has a Super Max player ever won a championship?

Because the main point is that somehow Durant doesn't feel he'd impact the competitive balance by choosing an eastern team.
How exactly did I do that?
And yet here you are talking about what teams might win in the playoffs or the title. That's irrelevant.
Tom Brady going to the Houston Texans might not mean Houston wins a super bowl. But it absolutely impacts the competitive balance/parity within the AFC South.
Same shyt with Durant on Boston. Or Washington. Or Miami.

Celtics + Durant was NOT beating Cleveland this year. Would it be more competitive yes. But does it change the overall result, no.
You'll get to see KD vs Bron in the finals ANYWAY. So it's not like he cheated you out of seeing that.
KD can only play for ONE TEAM breh. The 6/7/8 seeds in the east would still be playoff fodder. Cleveland is still sweeping to the ECF. GS might lose 2 games instead of 0.
