20 is like .300 in baseball

Not even close.

In baseball you can only get up to bat when it is your turn...in an average game you only getting 3 or 4 at bats...and for you to get more your team as a whole has to hit the ball well...u can go 3 for 3 but if everyone else goes 0 for or 1 for you not even going to get that 4th at bat...

In basketball you can shoot whenever you want...especially KD in this offense...when Russ is not on the floor he has the license to shoot every single time...shyt with Russ on the floor he has the license to shoot every single time...

The biggest factor in scoring 20 points is how many shots you put up and how many shots you put up has absolutely nothing to do with your skill as a basketball player...

The biggest factor in batting .300 is your skill as a hitter because you only getting a limited amount of tries per game...and that number of tries is directly related to what the other players on your team do when they are up to hit...

There are only two guys who can shoot dribble and pass on thunder and KD is one of them so...

There needs to be a psychological study as to why 20 points is the gold standard for...I don't know...something...

I've seen so many post on the coli that say so and so player isn't a star because he don't score 20...or that so and so is a star cause he scores 20 a night...

THERES ONLY 22 PLAYERS IN THE WHOLE LEAGUE AVEARGING 20 PPG
AND 4 PAIR ARE TEAMMATES.
(POR, OKC, TOR, GSW)

EVERY TEAM SHOULD HAVE ATLEAST ONE 20 POINT SCORER
IF IT WERE AS SIMPLE AS YOU CLAIM.

No because every team is not designed for a guy to take enough shots to get 20 points...

And ever NBA player isn't going to take bad shots that they might have to take to get 20...

If you give every nba player the chance to shoot 35 times a game...how many of them are not going to score 20 points a game?

It is as simple as a claim...

Are there 22 guys who average 10 or more rebounds a game?

Are there 22 guys who average 10 or more assist per game?

Are there 22 guys who average 3 or more blocks per game?

Those are rarer and position specific, unlike 20 PPG seasons. In any given season, you'd like have at most like 3-4 players having 10 APG (and most often less than that).

Player Season Finder | Basketball-Reference.com There's been 27 diff players who averaged 10 APG for a full season.

This season the average APG for a team is at 22,2 APG, so someone getting 10 a game is averaging 45% of the league's average APG for teams.

Teams around the league average 102.5 PPG, so if someone were to score 45% of the points it'd be 46 PPG :merchant: Obviously this is silly as it has only been done once in history...

10 APG is comparable to 30 PPG. Interestingly, 27 players did it already : Player Season Finder | Basketball-Reference.com

Which is the same as getting 10 APG.

20 PPG is not that rare as 301 (!!) players did it at least once: Player Season Finder | Basketball-Reference.com

24 players had 3 BPG season : http://bkref.com/tiny/XWxWL and all of them, save for AK47, were 4s or 5s.

If you put it at 1.5 BPG, you get 183 players (http://bkref.com/tiny/OvOjf) which is already more comparable.

10 RPG is not rare http://bkref.com/tiny/3VBcI as 218 players did it or are doing it right now but still happen less often than 20 PPG

To get similar numbers (228), you need to set the bar to 21.5 PPG :
http://bkref.com/tiny/cQilG

This season 15 players are scoring 21.5 PPG or more: http://bkref.com/tiny/TZH83
10 are getting 10 RPG or more: http://bkref.com/tiny/yiOlk

Agreed @CHICAGO

What's with people acting like scoring points is as simple as throwing up a bunch of shots? If you ain't talented, you're not scoring in volume.

Unfortunately for Durant nobody is going to care about any streaks he has short of winning a title.

He had a season where he averaged 20 ppg too....and he was never a star:mjpls:

Matter of fact....he only averaged double figures 3x times in his 12 year career:mjpls:

Give him 15 shots a game + 4 FTs and he too became a 20 point scorer though:sas2:

he wasn't a star but Mike James could ball.

and did he score 20+ or more in 50+ straight games because I'm alluding to the fact what Durant is doing is no minor feat. are you saying it is?
