I've been saying Kevin Gates when it comes to music he's the street/good version of Drake. He makes the kind of music Drake wishes he could make street+relationship stuff. Gates can rap his ass off & sing. Gates also touches on his emotions from a self awareness perspective a lot more, depression, etc. everything Drake has sculpted and tried to make himself be is Kevin Gates.

Idk. He's emotional in a weird way. For instance his song Posed To Be In Love for many in retrospect is a disgusting song.. He's rapping about beating his girl. But it's in a weird story telling way that instead of me being like "oh that's fukked up" it more like, I see it as him telling the realities of some relationships that are toxic because one person can't handle their emotions Ina healthy manner..Which isn't his entirely his fault because those behaviors were probably learned from his surroundings; parents maybe. I have a cousin who grew up in a home with a real abusive father and his parents never got him help for a lot of fukked up shyt he went through and he's gone on to be a women abuser..

Also he raps about depression and stuff like that
