I'm looking into developing artists. I was thinking about charging everything I spend on em to a separate recoupable recording deal. You can leave me for Kevin Liles if you want, but all my money is gona get paid back outta your show money and advances

It depends on how hands on you want to get. They say that managers are like babysitters but they don't have to be. If the deal is that you get a percentage of every paying opportunity you get for an artist then that's the extent of your relationship. You'll have to show and prove or you wont eat. As far as I know you don't have to spend your own personal money on an artist. Maybe I'm being naive to think that though.

Theres really not. Most rap fans aren't spending day and night on blogs and forums to find new music. Radio and shyt is still very relevant from an industry standpoint. If you want success in that realm you still have to play the traditional game.

Difference is now there are other avenues. But even still it all comes back to labels. I was when I found out Young Thug and Migos were signed.
