Kevin Gates doesn’t shy away from speaking his mind. He was in a middle of a controversy last month when he commented on the Black Lives Matter movement saying “All Lives Matter” in a radio interview with 106 KMEL.
The rapper, who surprised everyone by selling over 100k copies of his album Islah in the first week, made a stop at 93.9 radio station in Washington D.C. to speak with The Fam morning show hosts.
At the 6:55 mark, Kevin says that when he paid a visit to the Apple office, a lady told him that he actually outsold Rihanna’s ANTIalbum which was released in the same week, but couldn’t grab the #1 spot because Samsung bought her CDs. Well, considering Samsung and Apple are rivals in every aspect of the business, we can expect them to say something like that.
He also passionately addresses the controversy about his comments on Black Lives Matter, saying that people took the wrong meaning of his words and he never intended to say that he doesn’t care about his own people. Watch the full interview below.
