Red stopped late-70's after a start in the early 60's.

Same with Pryor with a short resurgence in the early-80's.

Bill was running from the mid-60's to the mid-90's......from 'I-Spy' to 'The Cosby Show'.​

Chris Rock had a pretty long reign.

I def have my issues with Chris Rock, but all those old HBO specials are OnDemand and all those joints are classics

Eddie only had 2 stand up specials, but Eddie's Hollywood Reign (as the star as you said) is the King.

"Raw" and "Delirious" are both Classics. Plus he had two Classic Comedy Albums, Plus was on SNL and had impact as well. Then of course "48 Hours" and "BHC" took off. Kevin puts in a lot of work, there's no denying. I agree he's had a very strong Decade. But you'll know how Hollywood is with their "One Brotha Comedy at a time" type stuff. Right now Kevin and Chappelle are both on top. I'll say that. Eddie, Martin and Chris have seemed to slow down though their still making money. Chris just had a Standup recently and is still doing movies. Martin at least still has "Bad Boys" plus he went back on Tour. Eddie is just collecting lifetime achieve awards now. If anything Kevin clearly studied the GOATS, he's hitting every genre (Comedy, Drama, Acton, Animation etc)

Similar to rap music the comedy scene has changed post internet. Which has allowed Kevin Hart (and Drake in rap music) to stay at the top longer than previous generations.

A lot of the top funny people aren't very talented as stand ups (ex. someone like Desi Banks is much funnier doing skits than stand up) and there doesn't seem to be anything to propel them from underground to mainstream (popular sitcom, comic view, def comedy jam, etc).

How? Eddie was killing it in the 80s. Eddie was top draw and more skilled. Bill Cosby can't make coming to America....no offense.
