The NBA is in a shift and it seems like having 3 max players isn't going to work anymore if one of them isn't a two way big. Outside of the Heat all of those hastily put together "Team up" squads have been a disaster, and it seems like depth is going to win out.

Plus they both have had pretty much the best supporting starters cast for the last two seasons - Batum, Matthews and Hickson/Lopez whereas Kyrie and Love have been playing with different starters ever since Bron has been out - Waiters, Miller, Thompson, Marion, Dellavedova etc etc.
