I probably get a panic attack once per year and they are no joke. It’s the ultimate my mind is playing tricks on me condition. You are absolutely convinced you are about to die, when in reality you are actually fine
My panic attacks used to be horrible until I realized the bolded

Now I can just tell myself im ok and its just my mind playing tricks on me and the attacks aren’t as worse(mentally)

shyt is still physically draining though

Naw breh weed can actually enhance your panic attacks and make them worse

I get them shyts all the time and weed doesn’t help at all

shyt be having me feeling like im about to have a heart attack

I have to do that with my depression all the time. Just constantly remind myself (I put alerts on my phone just in case I need it) that it's all in my head, it's not how I really want to be and feel.

We have to take mental health more seriously.

Yeah man, weed can function as a trigger for panic attacks for a lot of people. THC doesn't always have a positive effect and high for folks. It's why you get people talking about weird paranoia and why if the certain triggers in that person are met, those are anxiety/panic attacks. It can even trigger schizophrenia in people if those people are already prone to developing it. My best friend hit the blunt while we were rolling down the blvd in college and I had to spend the next 8 hours at his crib trying to keep him from suicide.

It can be gradual or it can just one day fukking hit you and trigger an episode, shyt is scary. It's important to remember that despite the benefits of THC and cannabis, it's still got mind altering properties that can have very, very adverse effects on people who are susceptible to it.

Reading this was rough cus I remember the first panic attack I had in 2014.

Healthy as a young bull, no stress, just another day when suddenly the attack came out of no where. Think about the worst fear u ever had, now times that by 20. Your heart is beating super fast, u can barely breath and the worst off all, u can’t control ur brain with such vivid scary thoughts.


Had to be an Ativan for the next six months, lost like 60+ pounds. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.


The irony is I use to believe it happen to weak people and that with strong mind, u were able to overcome anything :snoop:
Hey breh ive never had a panic attack but i heard it was like u kno that feeling of climbing down stairs in the dark but u miss a step and u have that falling feeling? Is it like that? Obviously for much longer time period.

Yeah it can be draining because a bad attack can last for hours. One thing that helps me when I have an attack is literally dunking my head in cold shower water. The shock of the cold water seems to calm me down. An ice pack on your head can help as well.

My girl used to laugh at my alerts(I usually have a inspirational quote) but they really do help

Horrible advice. Smoking leads to increased paranoia and eventually panic attacks in many people.

Yeah cold water always helps

I’ve hopped in the shower fully clothed a couple times during some bad attacks
