Optimistic But I Got Hands Tho
Varejao, Tristan, Love? How much will they be making collectively?

The Cavs aren't operating out of fear of paying the luxury tax like most NBA franchises. Dan Gilbert is on record saying and has a history of paying the tax.

They'll keep it all together and even bring in more if they feel the need to do so.

Brendan Haywood has a unguaranteed expiring contract of $10 million. Cavs could sign everyone back and trade for a player making $12 million a year and it would all work under the current CBA.

No it's not. But isn't kinda weird how he conveniently talks about being 100% sure on staying, after the Cavs reach the finals? :patrice:

Well he would have to be stupid to leave a team that is almost guaranteed to go to the finals every year in the weakass east. He gets a max next year and an easy playoff road. How could he not like that?

That's what I'm saying. But why couldn't he make that statement right after the first round, or when the Cavs were down 2-1 to the Bulls?

Does it really matter? Maybe he wasn't asked the question until recently or maybe seeing the Cavs handle the eastern conference so easily showed him that it's better to be the 3rd wheel than outside looking in. Who knows.:yeshrug:

It matters cause you wonder what he'll say if the Cavs lost to the Bulls and never made it to the Finals. Sounds like a frontrunner to me :yeshrug:

I just want to know why he can't just exercise his player option it would save him from those questions for awhile.

Because it would cost him an extra $2 million dollars.

If he opts out and re-signs his salary floor is automatically raised.

I take it he can't exercise his player option until after the moratorium?
