And how much did they even break kayfabe. "I don't like but I respect you" speeches by a babyface or even a heel are pretty standard fare in wrestling. Hell, Terry funk and flair had one of the most brutal i quit matches ever and funk immediately did the same thing.
And Owens shedding a tear in his hometown, as a heel, but KEEPING IT KAYFABE with "I hate you" and storming off is the perfect finish.
