shaming people for going to college is just as stupid and short sighted as shaming people for not going to college

instead of focusing on systemic issues that lead to a person getting $100K in debt and only getting a $35K gig out of it, you trivialize it into this bullshyt.

Shut your ass up nikka. Ain't no damn systemic issues involved when a person willingly decides to get a bachelor's in Dance at a private University with 50k a year tuition.

Yo, there was a cat on here - young no doubt - who argued w/me that a 9 to 5 was :flabbynsick:and that people were getting money off YOUTUBE now

and was dead serious :gladbron:
I'm sure there are, but unless they're pulling in really high 6 figures or more it's just a stop gap. Ain't no long term prospects in being a YouTuber. Other than some basic photoshop and video editing, the only skill them people have is knowing how to act a fool on camera. These new kids are so short sighted :snoop:

A degree of any kind isnt worth anything unless you know how to market yourself and your skills. If you graduate with a degree in marketing you can still flip that into a six figure job. Even if you have a degree in something like gender studies you can use it to secure a good paying position if you can break down the fundamentals of the degree and show how they apply for the job you want. You can then go back to school after making some cash and get a second degree that builds on the knowledge of the first and allows you to become a specialist. There are a lawyers who studied sociology. There are economists who studied political science. There are policy analysts who studied gender studies and there are people with MBAs who have marketing or communication degrees.

Telling black people to think twice about education is irresponsible, dangerous, and I question the motives of anyone advising us to think twice about it. If you're someone who is making very little money and you have a degree what you need to do is sit down and figure out how to make that degree work for you.

BW are in between a rock and a hard place.

Those Man-o-sphere nikkas love to talk down about black women with college educations (I agree with the frustration about women leading with their degrees) and say well if they were fine enough or were really marriage material someone would wife them up.

They love to ignore the fact that most black men don't make enough to support a family on ONE income. But let those nikkas tell it they are all self-employed and make six figures so of course that doesn't apply to them.

They also bash black mothers for telling their daughters to go to school and make sure they can be self-sufficient so they won't have to rely on a man for support. Which makes sense IMO given the economic realities of modern life. But according to these guys the girl should wait around to find a husband that will take care of her (that way the husband also has all the decision-making power in the relationship).

I've watched those man-o-sphere for a few months. They give some good info but most of them seemed so invested in bashing black women they ignore anything contrary to their narrative.
