People only respect you when you're dead or in jail.
It's too late. And refusing to tell the truth and doing nothing to reestablish black traditional family is even worse.

ATL, but rasied in DMV
What was messed up was, none of the Black talking heads, or Black radio stations even covered his death. It was like they tried to pretend they never heard of this man , or he was only popular on the internet. I guess they came around when major news networks started to cover it, although it took some of these big news networks a minute as well. And when those major news networks finally did cover his passing, it was a big story.

BET honoring Kevin Samuels puts a spot light on all those Black news outlets and Black Talk radios stations. Big win for BET. They needed it. Then again, I'm not sure if they themselves even covered his passing when it happened. Perhaps that had something to do with whether it was a rumor or not. Because what happened to him was unbelievable, especially right after his live stream, which I almost watched. But these other Black media outlets, and Black talking heads, I still don't think I heard anything from them. I stopped even checking. And most of the ones that did have some kind of voice, came down on him, like Vivica Foxx. She should be ashamed of herself. Anybody with half decency, should have understood this man really meant our people well in the long run. These things suppose to had became obvious when hearing he passed. I mean the man didn't make his money by selling drugs, then giving back to the Black community. He didn't even have a record. He said he was basically a country boy from the projects, who grew up in church. Then he got educated and made it big. Did he always interject his biblical knowledge with his advice, no. In fact he fell away from it a lot of times. But you could sense it was still in him. He reminded me of some of those IT brothers I worked with. I didn't always agree with them, but none of them deserved to die, and the few that did, didn't deserve to be talked badly about afterwards. That didn't use to be in us.

This new kind of hate Black people developed, has gone to a different level. I mean it's clear that Black love has been on a nose dive for a minute. And all Kevin Samuels did was try something different, like giving it a jump start...because we needed it. And it worked for many. Again, hats off to BET.

I don't understand the hate he got. @Godless Liberal CEO he called out those MGTOW/Incel followers of his several times and said that women aren't the enemy. He tried to prop up Black men to show that they deserve the best like any other group and having standards for ourselves isn't a bad thing.

I get that he could be abrasive at times and go more the entertainment route but he did his thing and he will be missed by many of us. This is from a guy that has stable healthy relationships and a generally positive life.

Somebody on twitter put it best, too many people out here looking for perfection when it comes to mentors, activists, or advice givers in general. Any flaw they can find means the message is wrong and should be discarded(which is a double edged sword that those with power can exploit)

Thats why whenever a thread about ks pops up his message/advice arent the main things attacked, but him, cause they cant logically attack what he said.
