I was just 16 then.

According to that Wikipedia link, he lost the Grammy to Eric Clapton.

i remember seeing it on mtv jams countdown regularly for about a month. i had no clue it was THAT big either.

Yeah, the Tony Rich version.
I remember the song, but this was like 1995/1996...and at the time I was heavy into hip hop...like probably most people were.
There were some pretty great R&B artists at the time though, in between all that East Coast/West Coast drama.

yep. thats when it was out. that winter. mtv jams countdown was apart of my morning "get ready for school" routine. i rememer random chit like this and the delinquent habits getting heavy requests.:laugh:

i didnt even like the song, but that "nobody knows it but me" part stayed stuck in my head for a good while. then long after i completely forgot about that song, it randomly popped back into my head about 6 years ago and never left. and i still dont like the song but lol.

never heard of kevin sharp until last week tho.

Yes. The Tony Rich Project version was released in the spring of 96' ( in NC) . It was definitely different at the time. Loved that song :smile:
