Yeah first Black President in a racist country who shyts on black people all the time. Yeah no big deal at all. I don't know how old you are but I'm 29 and remember thinking as a kid that no man that looked like me could ever be president. Do you ever think of the racism, death threats and other challenges he faced? Coming from a single mother who wasn't around a lot and a father who basically abandoned him and no damn money. This BLACK man came from nothing to become the first black president of the USA. This is a country where black people have a hard time getting a damn landscaping job but I'm sure you don't give a fukk about that. You are a bible thumper so race means nothing to you but to most people who deal with the struggle everyday appreciate President Obama.
I was happy he was the first black president and everything too... but after that happened, I judge him by the way he DID HIS JOB. Keeping Guantanamo Bay open, not vetoing the extension of the Patriot Act. Brought healthcare reform that mandates Americans to purchase a product that they couldn't afford before and was originally a republican plan. I can go on and on.
What does me being 'a Bible thumper' have anything to do with anything? Martin Luther King, a preacher, played one of the most significant roles in the civil rights struggle as did the black church. Thing is, I'm not going to use race to allow me to hand out free passes.
I'm glad Obama is black and he's the first black president, but after he's in office, I care about PERFORMANCE. I wanted a complete change from the policies of Bush because he was leading the country down a disastrous road, and we get in a guy who promised a complete 180 aka mr. "change", but what he brings is very similar to Bush.
Did you ride for Condaleeza Rice, being that she was the first black woman as secretary of state? Bush also had Colin Powell in his administration as well. Did they not overcome racism to get those positions? I fail to see what is so impressive about Obama.
