@Sin Colieone @TheDarceKnight what's the deal with this talk about Khrysis ghost produced for 9th? :ohh: any truth to that?

i knew they had a relationship similar to Timbaland and Danja but ain't ever heard anything about ghost producing
Honestly I don't think so.

I've known them both since 2001/2002, and Khrysis was heavily influenced by 9th and even though Khrysis had a time period where a lot of his beats sounded very similar to 9th, I think it was mostly because they were living in the same house and sharing the same computer to make beats, and I think they just influenced each other for a while. I would hear beats some times think 9th did it, or Khrysis, and I'd end up being wrong. About 2005 Khrysis broke off and got more of his own unique style, with more influence from producers like Nottz, Madlib, and Dilla.

From 2002 through 2008 I spent a lot of hours around them making beats and I've only heard one beat ghost produced for 9th for a Mortal Kombat game, and I'm not sure why.

Khrysis did it, not 9th, and I wanna say 9th just didn't feel like doing it. Other than this I've never seen a beat say produced by 9th that was actually produced by Khrysis.

I don't know (and I'm not gonna speak for @TheDarceKnight) but I highly doubt it. Both of their outputs were/are too extensive and too concurrent for that to be the case.

It wasn't like 9th was making hundreds of beats, Khrysis had one or two credits, then when he was "on" he was allowed to flourish (which is how it tends to work with ghost-producers)

As soon as Khrysis was down with the team anything coming out of Hall of Justus was either credited to 9th or Khrysis at one point. A ghost producer would have had to "earn their stripes" early on.
Spot on. Yeah. The only cats that had ANY production credits on Hall of Justus projects were the occasional beat from Fatin, or sometimes Illmind or Nottz. There weren't really many outside producers. Big Dho did some beats and actually made a compilation album in 2002 that was slept on. But it was 95% 9th and Khrysis.

When Khrysis started taking over engineering duties at the studio, IMO he became the main in-house producer even more than 9th was. Khrysis recorded almost all of The Minstrel Show for example, not 9th.

And on a lot of those mid 00's releases like Sleepers by Big Pooh, Project Mayhem by Legacy, or Relief by Median, etc, the 9th beats on those albums were from '01-'03, and the Khrysis beats on those albums were more recently recorded. Even when 9th started Jamla, with the exception of Rapsody's projects, Khrysis has more placements on those dozens of Jamla projects than anyone else in Soul Council. He's a work horse and 9th always talks about how Khrysis lives beats 24/7 and is able to produce more than him.

They both produce a lot though. When 9th is producing he'll fire out 10 or so beats a day. I think he just posted on IG earlier last week that he made 12 in one day.

Man...Chaundon and Legacy did a whole album together as a group called The Embassy that Khrysis produced that never came out. :/ shyt was dope too. All the songs were named after movie titles (Boondock Saints, Crash, Colors, Money Train, Happy Gilmore, Pulp Fiction, etc.) I think Chaundon said they may still try and drop it somehow.

Leg had such a funny line on the intro, "I'm a taste of the street. All you rappers sound sweet like Nicolay beats."

:heh:

Leg gave no fukks about politics within the clique.

EDIT: A couple of these came out in other places

Wow :ohhh: now that you mention it that might explain something.

Do you think 9th made Duckworth for Kendrick and Jesus for Rhapsody :jbhmm: Those two joints I always wondered if Khrysis had a hand in them.

9th has a video somewhere of him making the beats for Duckworth. To me they sound like 9th. It's hard to put into words but I've heard so many beats from both of them that I can just tell on the drums and the way a sample is chopped by my ear if it was 9th or Khrysis. Once in a blue moon I'll be wrong. The thing is, I've never seen one help the other with any beats. For a while 9th Wonder would get E. Jones to drop some keys on his beats, but besides that it's always been just him. I think there may be a video of 9th making the Jesus beat too.

I know it sounds like a good conspiracy but I really think that Raiden level on Mortal Kombat thing I posted is the only thing that Khrysis produced that has 9th's name on it.

Aww damn for real? 9th has a video making Duckworth? I got to check that out cause that beat is incredible. Jesus is incredible too and he was in his bag for both of those like when he made those beats in that 144 beat tape that's online from back in the day.

Those beats are so dope that I figured Krysis could have made them reading through this thread cause while 9th is super dope there was a little point where to me (and you may disagree) he was like a one trick pony where all his beats sounded the same with the same snare. Not saying that's a bad thing but he just had a formula and stuck to it especially on those tutankhamun tapes he did. Now a days he seems to be coming with some really fresh stuff to the point where it wouldn't surprise me if Khrysis made some of it or collabed with him tbh but if that's not the case it's dope 9th is in his bag. Maybe its him on maschine helping him as well.
