Honestly I don't care. The people that have seen him seem to think he's doing fine. Plus he's the only one on that list with less than 5 starts plus you got Myler Murray ranked below Jared Goff and Sam Darnold, that alone tells me all I need to know breh

the only thing that lists tells me is that after like 4-5 best qbs the NFC QB roster is questionable....also Jones over Cousins ?
If Darnold and Goff are 6th and 7th best QBs, the bar is super low.

Going from Tartt to Hufanga at SS is a downgrade until proven otherwise, imo

Everybody likes to point to that dropped INT against the Rams but ignore how since 2019 the defense rarely gave up explosive plays rarely when Ward/Tartt were healthy. I hope Hufanga proves me wrong, but I have my doubts

With better corner play his role won't be as crucial as it was with Tartt, I'm sure the team saw it this way too which is why they let him go. You don't want your strong safety to be a primary cover guy. You want him to just read and react

The good news is that this is the deepest CB room we’ve had in a minute, so we should get better corner play this year compared to last

They had to move off Tartt. Dude was injured 10 games a season. And when he played he was solid but not anything beyond that. We can do worse than him, but the lack of availability really stunk.


SS is the cheapest defensive position to fill, especially if you're a Box Safety. When you do a lot of cover looks and disguises, you do need a safety who can cover. Huf, Odum etc aren't long term plays imo but this FO doesn't ever want to spend on a SS. And playing a FS who can cover at SS is usually wasteful.

Hell, I remember Chiefs picking up Honeybadger for peanuts.

I would look at this another way. Basically the worst Trey Lance can be is dead average. Which is good enough to make the Wild Card.
