Kid is my guy!

But I don’t understand why he was rolling with Martin forever for Def Comedy Jam and never stepped in to get that right since '92. That should've been handled 30+ years ago.

EVERYONE IS MISREMEMBERING HISTORY.

THEY USED THE CAPRI SAMPLE
FOR ONE SEASON WHICH WAS SEASON 3
NOT SINCE 1992.

THIS IS THE FAMOUS MARTIN INTRO
EVERYONE IS FAMILIAR WITH.

Def Comedy Jam started in '92, with Kid as the DJ.

So the point was, they always said they were "very close" during that time and "hung out 24/7" together. I think Kid used to do all of Martin's parties back then too. Kid should've looked into whatever the issue was with the bread since back then. That's literally 33 years of wasted money gone.

At this point he's never getting money. The whole cast probably looking at Martin on all these streaming apps and syndication wondering where their checks are.

Facts.

That's three decades and change of lost bread. But it's like someone else said in the thread, I don’t know if Kid is really all that sound with his business. That's an easy check forever, if he was on top of that back in the day.

Lord Finesse had to sue Fatboy Slim for sampling his voice for that track "The Rockefeller Skank". That sh*t was everywhere! Now he's getting bread off the record and has like 25% ownership of it. You have to be quick about those situations and be early, so you don’t miss out on getting that money.

to all of you up and coming beatmakers, my advice to you is to NEVER sample anyone's voice for anything going forward. I don't care how hip hop you may think an artist is, if your shyt blows up and you used even a grunting noise from one of their songs, they will be there to collect in the end.
