I genuinely tried listening to Kid Cudi after Kanye said he was great and all this, this nig is awful, the bars is terrible and his voice is weak too. Aint no hate, I watched his Ted Talk and I think he's a good guy, but musically I'm not seeing any greatness, shyt was pure awful.

Swear to god I used to feel the same way. But u can't listen to Cudi for bars. At his best, Cudi is all about melody. That's the gateway. Then u listen a little more and realize even tho he ain't lyrical, he's kicking some real shyt.

I remember every time "Alive (Nightmare)" would come on, I couldn't make it :05 into the song without hitting skip. One day I let it play. And dear god... when he gets to the fukking hook?!?!

Try feeling the mood, then listening to what he's saying. Changed my whole opinion on Cudder.
