Lame and corny

Rolling Stones are 1000 years old still touring with respect.

Rappers always gotta be washed and a joke because of their age. :russell:
Yeah but at least with rock you can always count on your instrumentation to carry you even if you physically can't move around on stage as much anymore.

Hip-hop performances outside of the music relies on stage presence a lot more. Especially acts like kid and play who relied on dancing and moving around on stage a lot in their act. They aren't just standing still playing a guitar or the drums or whatever.

Prince looked good when I saw him live. He moved well played all the instruments on stage.
:rudy:
Playing all the instruments is not dancing. how athletic do you have to be to do shyt like this?

By the way I tried rewatching house party again recently and the film hasn't aged that well. It was a product of the time. But it's weird that I can watch a comedy like Friday and it still holds up.

say word really? nah man no way. i watched house party about 3 weeks ago and it most definitely holds up. bilal singing heatwave always and forever, robin harris in every damn scene, john witherspoon calling the po-lice, i smell p*ssy, and of course the battle scenes at play's house with both the rhymes and the dancing vs. the girls

it is absolutely every bit as good as friday. undisputed classic right there with mad quotables

Gotta agree to disagree. Might just be a matter of taste. :yeshrug:. Just felt real 80s-90s. Of course I can watch shyt from that time period but some stuff still hits outside of the time period it was made in while some stuff just feels like a relic of the time period and shows it age. I still like the movie but you know the movie was made in 90 for sure while watching it lol.

What's wrong with that? House party literally takes you bacc to an Era. That's what makes it special

Agree to disagree. HP is one of my top 5 favorite movies. It may not be as funny as Friday but it's just as relatable.

The only people that seemed to hold on to the magic in their choreography as they got older was Sammy Davis jr and Michael Jackson. Everybody else looked no better than this. Even James Brown and Gregory Hines started looking :flabbynsick: with their moves after a certain point.

My issue with it is the lack of effort. They can still do the moves a tad slower and still look synchronized and crisp, that performance they clearly looked disinterested. And like I said earlier, if it's a free show, cool but I wouldn't pay to see that performance.

Nah that movie has aged well. Its the perfect time capsule of the late the 80s early 90s vibe hiphop had. Plus Robin Harris doing his standup material will always make it funny

They looked pretty good to me considering it was a small space to try those moves. Play still looks relatively the same to be 57 years old.

I saw Class Act before I saw the House Parties as a kid. I remember thinking they were teenagers, then you grow up and realize they were nearly 30 in '92 :wow:
