I don’t understand how this band made it big. I like a lot of rock, but they always sounded generic and sing-songy to me. And the premise is this album (judging by the title) is the laziest idea of a punk album (not that I’m super knowledgeable about the genre).

A product of their time for sure, their music hasn't aged too well. Looking at their lyrics and music videos, they just embodied young angst in the 90s really well, and like you said, they had a really simple, inoffensive style that was accessible to the mainstream.

They filled the suburban ‘teen angst’ void Nirvana left after Cobain died.
