The variety of flows created by making beats other than boom bap had a huge impact.

90s created some of the best hip hop and R&B across all decades IMO

Nah. There was stuff I liked, I just thought overall it was a few steps down from the first half of the decade.
91-96 was ELITE

tough cuz I really really love late 80s rap especially…but when you factor in the entire 80s, I think that overall rap music did get better in the 90s

Both have jams but I think the updated production helps. The early 80s is kinda blah but the late 80s hip hop can hang with anything in the 90s
