Your local food bank has tons upon tons of food sitting in gigantic freezers. This food is donated from places like the Church, Walmart, Target, etc...and they end up throwing a good majority of it away because there's simply too much of it. I know because I worked at one. I spent hours throwing away good meat, veggies, snacks, dessert. Anything you can think of.

There's way way too much food in our country.

old heads stop getting these kids riled up to march and shout while you sit at home and watch it on tv
Kids learn skills outside of STEM, men learn to fight, hunt, grow and protect and nuture your own. Not just play sports and video games.
Use our money to build up our businesses more, not just after a black person dies for a few weeks.

Whether through gun legislation, reperations SOMETHING. Killer Mike is usually on point but I think he missed the boat on this one. Farming our own food? Really? Is he aware that (at lease as far as the East Coast goes) there is already a fairly large network of Black farmers, wouldn't it arguably more productive to mobilize them. Just saying.

On another note, he really needs to watch his weight. He gets heavier every time I see him.

Those farmers you speak of are industrial farmers. most all of them grow corn or soy beans. There is so much of a surplus of corn (the most genetically engineered crop on earth) that most of them just let it sit in the fields until it turns, write it off for insurance and use it to make chicken feed. Load up the fields with fertilizer (which kills the soil long term resulting in more fertilizer) Fruits and veggies (especially in supermarkets) are imported from other places or even China (genetically engineered to survive the trip).

This is much different from sustainable farming, where crops would be rotated for soil health. Companion planting is used (to support crops and as a natural pest control so no gmo crops are needed).

Combined with the advances in greenhouse growing and hydroponics, along with good old school preserving for winters we really shouldn't be at the mercy of multinational corporations to eat.

Bonus: if we utilized hydroponics and green houses and dedicated the fields to hemp, we could be self sufficient on food and fuel.
