The article you posted enforces the idea that American unipolarity is nearing its end. We are headed towards a multipolar world. This isn't the 80s or 90s where the US had total primacy of the world. The Iraq and Afghan wars were damaging to American primacy. Nations like Iran and China have superb cyber technology advances which we still are lagging behind. The biggest example of American unipolarity ending is the military technology gap. Back in the 2000s it was said China was 20 years behind the US. Now its 10 years and soon by the late 2020s China will have military tech polarity with the US. Russian and Chinese 4.5 and 5th generation fighter jets are capable of challenging American F-22 and the resources draining f-35. And on top of that they have developed advanced anti ship and air missiles systems like the s-300/400/Hq-9/Yakhont/Klub missiles. And these weapons will soon be in the hands of American adversaries like Iran. Which will limit American primacy in the Persian Gulf. Moreso than even before. Once American air supremacy and naval supremacy is negated you no longer have unipolarity but multipolarity. Its the return of history where regional powers will exert influence, regional wars and alliances will be more common place. Syria is the perfect example of what a multipolar proxy war looks like.Those countries rely on the United States for stability, technology, etc.
