As honorable as this sounds, i'm glad my ancestors didn't do it. I mean i wouldn't exist.

I would hope if push comes to shove, I would be able to live up to this idea. It's something I've thought about regarding slavery and how it is very telling that many slave owners viewed their slaves as being "ruined" if they learned how to read. Slaves once they were exposed to a life outside of slavery and ideas outside of slavery were willing to risk life and limb in pursuit of liberty than to be enslaved and fed by a "master". Especially when the cost is abuse.
There are higher causes and goals for a lot of people in life than creature comforts.
